I'm not able to preview windows in my taskbar anymore. I went into the taskbar settings in control panel and the "Show Window Previews(thumbnails)" option was greyed out. I have Windows Aero enabled, theme is also set to Aero. Tried the suggested fix to restart explorer.exe, that didn't work either.

One last observation - a lot of the themes I've looked at do not seem designed to work in tandem with ObjectBar, at lease not obviously so, or they provide a replacement TaskBar or Dock that doesn't have the full functionality of the QLTray & SysTray, which many of us have gotten very used to using.

I'd say that closing it from the MDI taskbar is probably the best thing to do with it if it appears though. It doesn't sound like moving it would actually gain you anything. 2) I use the preview pane as a email screener and always navigate it with my arrow keys and a finger on the delete button.

I recall seeing them for the first time around the time of IE 4 preview release. I suspect it has something to do with taskbar refresh coincident with a program being removed from memory. My NT 4.0 at work machine also has those blank buttons. Closing Outlook98 leaves a blank button often, but not on every close.
